The Tao

The central concept of Taoism is the Tao, which is often translated as "the Way". The goal of Taoism is to align oneself with the Tao and achieve harmony with the natural order of things. This can lead to a state of wu wei meaning "non-action" or "effortless action", where one's actions are in perfect harmony with the Tao.

When we train we often come close to this state of being. When you hit that sweep and it feels effortless, when you flow from one attack to the next, when you can execute a move without thinking about it; these are all small examples of how we align with the Tao, even if it's just for a brief moment.
